Nokia Lumia 800

With the arrival of the new Nokia Lumia 800(along with Lumia 710),the Finns have introduced their first smartphone to feature a Windows operating system in the form of the new windows  mobile Mango  os.

On the first look ,it does share a resemblance to the earlier n9 version,  although the screen size is reduced from 3.9″ (854×480 pixels) to 3.7″ (800×480 pixels) to conform to the Windows Phone specifications. The CPU also has been propped up to the 1.4GHz MSM8255 Snapdragon/Scorpion which means that it is not only one o the fastest phones on the deck but also provides the os with an extra boost. The vivid colors and exelent contrast ratio provided by the 16-bit AMOLED ClearBlack display also helps to expand the entire Windows os experience but the smaller screen size is expected to be a draw back. It’s  116.5mm x 61.2mm x 12.1mm and 142g profile means that it is much more bulky when compared to it’s competitors.

It does come with a microSIM and microSD slots the battery is made inaccessible, although the battery life leaves much to be desired for a heavy user. The absence of NFC capabilities and front facing camera is also turning out to be recognizable drawbacks of the system.

As a whole it is a brave new venture for the whole company and a one we wish to pay off as well.
